Caregiving is one of the most human experiences we share. It’s also one of the most challenging. At Innerhive, our story begins where so many caregiving stories do: in the middle of the overwhelm.
We’ve been there.
We’ve sat in doctors’ offices, notebook in hand, struggling to capture every word while our emotions ran high.
We’ve walked out of meetings unsure of next steps, worried about what we might have missed.
We’ve felt the exhaustion, isolation, and burnout that come from holding too much on our own.
Not because we didn’t care. But because the system wasn’t built to support us.
So, together, we built the tools we wish we’d had.
For our founder, Crystal Gallo, caregiving hit home when her grandmother was diagnosed with dementia while also caring for Crystal’s uncle during his cancer journey. Overnight, both needed full-time support.
Crystal and her husband opened their home, assuming they could balance remote work and family caregiving. “We thought we could figure it out on the fly,” she says. “We were wrong.”
The reality was immediate and overwhelming: managing medical appointments, medications, and daily care left little room to breathe. Burnout set in quickly. But through conversations with friends and colleagues, Crystal realized she wasn’t alone. Millions of families were navigating similar challenges in silence.
That shared struggle became the seed for Innerhive.
“We didn’t want to add to anyone’s plate—we wanted to lighten the load,” Crystal says.
Crystal’s story is just one of many on our team. Each of us has our own caregiving chapter—supporting parents, children, or partners—and each one shaped how Innerhive came to life.
Together, we understood one core truth: caregivers don’t need more to-do lists. They need tools that make the heavy parts lighter, that simplify what’s complex, and that remind them they aren’t alone.
With one tap, Innerhive records and summarizes medical appointments so caregivers can focus on the moment instead of scribbling notes. But it doesn’t stop there:
It’s not just technology—it’s a system of support for the people holding everything together.
Innerhive was built with one clear mission: to end caregiver burnout and make care sustainable—for families, friends, and professionals alike.
We believe caregiving can be one of the most meaningful, purpose-driven roles in life. But no one should have to sacrifice their own health or dignity along the way.
We’re here to make sure they don’t.
If you’re new here, welcome to the Hive. We’re glad you’ve found us. Whether you identify as a caregiver or not, if you’ve ever helped someone you love through a tough chapter—you belong here.
And to our partners who support caregivers in other ways: we’d love to share your stories, too. Stories about why you started, what keeps you going, and how your work is making life easier for families. Because together, we’re building a stronger ecosystem of care.
